Russ started his asphalt career in 1986 working with a small driveway paving company. The owner of that company was hired by Bob Brown to be a Foreman for AAC. Bob Brown hired Russ as well and he has been an integral part of American Asphalt. Russ started as a laborer, then became a paver operator. He eventually worked his way up to Foreman, then Superintendent. Russ is responsible for company safety training for crews, and has received Associated Builders and Contractors Gold Level Step Award, as well as the Utility Transportation Contractors Association Safety Award.
