W.COLLINGSWOOD HEIGHTS, NJ: MAY 16, 2019 – AMERICAN ASPHALT COMPANY has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2019 honor by NJ.com. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC; a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

The culture and core values of doing things R.I.G.H.T., with Respect, Integrity, God, Honesty and Trust are what sets them apart from the competition but other companies as well. “Winning Top Workplaces 2019 is indicative of our mission, which is ‘to help others’,” expressed Bob Brown, CEO and President of American Asphalt Company, when hearing the excellent news. Bob then continued, “Each day our team gets out of bed to do a great job, not just to provide care for their families, but also to earn profits the company can use ‘to help others’. Certainly charity begins at home, and we believe we need to care for our own employees with a great environment to work in, as well as; wide ranging benefits and competitive pay. As a company, American Asphalt has created two committees: The Caring Committee and The Fun Committee, both in which are an integral part of their culture. The Caring Committee helps with outreach inside the company; helping employees in good and bad times. They also help within the community; creating chemo bags for MD Anderson, volunteering to prepare meals and helping with other events for the Ronald McDonald House of Camden, and donating to the SJ Food Bank, just to name a few.

The Fun Committee is responsible for making the work environment fun! They prepare each day with a joke in the morning that is sent to all employees. This way every day is started with a smile. They are also responsible for company events such as; the dinner party in which all employees and their spouses are invited to attend for dinner, dancing and a chance to win some neat prizes like a Yeti Cooler. In addition to the dinner party, each year an annual picnic is planned for employees and their families to attend.
