This past Christmas season, American Asphalt Company was able to give back to our community in various ways.Giving back and helping others is why we do what we do. It is purely why our core values and our culture set us a part from so many others.
This 2019 season, we “adopted” a family that was fostering a child. They hadn’t received assistance from the foster program in time for Christmas. American Asphalt’s employees donated gift cards, clothes, sneakers, money and shoes for the foster child.
Instead of our annual holiday pollyanna, we decided to give back to the local shelter. We collected various gifts for the children staying there so that they have gifts from Santa under the tree. We also gathered toys for the Toys for Tots in both Camden and Burlington Counties which helps countless children and their families. In addition, we were able to support Haddon Townships Christmas drive by donating gift cards so they can purchase necessities for the children in need.
Bob Brown, the President of American Asphalt, donated to multiple foundations on behalf of the employees. Many of the foundations that were donated to are held near and dear to our employee’s hearts. Bob contributed to: UMDF Mitochondrial disease, Camden County Women’s Center, Teal Butterfly (Ovarian Cancer support), CASA (Advocates for children), Nicole Christison Memorial Scholarship at Clearview High School, IFOPA Organization (research, support and finding a cure for this rare genetic disorder), Metavivor (Stage IV Breast Cancer), Mama Mare Foundation (awareness and support for breast cancer), K Love Christian Radio, Mustang Marvels (providing food for students), and last but not least the Arch Bishop Damiano School.
As a team, American Asphalt Company was able to accomplish an abundance this Christmas. We were able to help several children to make sure that the spirit of Santa was alive no matter where they called home. We lifted the weight off parent’s shoulders that were stressed about this holiday season. We brought smiles to the foundations that are trying to make a difference for so many people.
The gift of giving is not just the holiday season for us; it is all year long, but this Christmas we were able to provide much more. We work hard and believe in our core values of Respect, Integrity, God, Honesty and Trust. This is how we can continue to be a part of our community to try to make a difference in so many lives.
