The Ronald McDonald provides boarding and shelter, creating a home environment, of extremely ill and injured children who are being treated at nearby hospitals; such as, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This program was designed to with the idea that nothing else matters when a family is dealing with the health of their children. The Ronald McDonald House focuses on the aspect that shelter and food should not be a concern in already stressful and difficult times. The Ronald McDonald House believes, ‘When a child is hospitalized the love and support of a family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.’
Every year, the Ronald McDonald House Southern NJ located in Camden, New Jersey hosts a 5k run to raise money for the families that are in need staying at their facility. American Asphalt Company is a huge advocate for the Ronald McDonald House Southern NJ. Over the years, the employees and Caring Committee donate their time cooking dinner, decorating for the holidays, and participating in the Ronald McDonald 5k run.
On Saturday June 1, 2019, the Ronald McDonald House held the 5k run. American Asphalt Company won for the largest team, bringing nearly 60 employees and their families in attending the run! It was a proud moment for everyone to be helping in such a large event. Sometimes the smallest gestures like signing up for a run or walk, make a huge impact on the community.
Thank you to all the American Asphalt employees and their families for taking time out of their weekends to participate in the run.
