TD Bank and American Asphalt have a long-standing relationship. Our company has milled and paved several of their locations every year to maintain their appearance, safety, and functionality. When TD Bank’s Mount Laurel, New Jersey, location needed paving work, they entrusted us once again for this project. Project Overview

American Asphalt has an ongoing partnership with TD Bank. Due to our familiarity with their operations, we understand the need for them to remain open and safe during our paving projects. As a financial institution, TD Bank provides key services to the local community and businesses. They can’t close their building for simple infrastructure repairs, which is why they partner with companies that are flexible and understand how to work quickly and efficiently.

Depending on the location, we usually perform these projects during off-business hours. If this isn’t possible, we complete the project in phases to ensure TD Bank remains open and patrons can safely access the building and its banking services.

For this project, we opted to use a standard eight-foot milling machine and a 10-foot commercial paver. We chose these tools so we could pave TD Bank’s new parking lot while maintaining their standard operating hours and keeping their employees and customers safe.

American Asphalt Project Phases

To reach our goal of completing this project as efficiently as possible, we implemented a two-phase strategy to allow us to finish in just three days. The first stage was milling. We milled and removed the surface of the asphalt on the first day. During this step, we removed the top layer of the existing pavement to prepare it for the new asphalt. This allowed us to create an even surface for the new parking lot and fix any cracks or ruts that may have developed over time. By removing these imperfections, we made a smooth layer to help TD Bank’s customers and employees stay safe.

Then, on days two and three, we paved a new two-inch-thick layer of asphalt and compacted it down. Finally, we finished the project with same-day line striping.

Once the striping was complete, we reopened the parking lot to pedestrian traffic. By paving over two days, we were able to keep at least one drive-thru aisle open at all times while maintaining access to TD Bank’s interior.
